Club Philosophy:

The aim of the Newquay Cormorants Swimming Club is to have a club development programme which will encourage the mass of competitive swimmers, whatever their level of ability and achievement, to gain benefit and enjoyment from swimming.
Everyone has a place within the squad structure,
providing an opportunity for members to participate in a programme of swimming development and competition within a progressively structured framework, according to their individual levels of ambition, ability and application.

· The aims inevitably involve a high degree of commitment from the swimmer and the swimmer's family as well. The swimmers, of course, need the encouragement and assistance from their parents.

· The parents have also to provide other services and tasks that go towards making a successful club, this includes administration, and many parents have to be involved in this part of the club structure.

· Equally as important is that we have a good working relationship with the pool management and that our programme and theirs should complement each other.

· To organize the comprehensive competitive programme a battery of officials is needed from within the club. At present we have a number of officials on the county list.

· Newquay Cormorants Swimming Club seeks to create the feeling that it is truly 'The family of Newquay Cormorants', in which everyone participates moving towards 'All' having duties and responsibilities, with this achievement everyone can rightly take pleasure and pride, for they have contributed to gain those achievements.

Competitive Aims

The aim is to provide regular competition as is desirable for all the swimmers in the training programme, at a level that is both appropriate and gradually progressive in standard. This is achieved through participation in the following:
